Supports online classes
The University of Idaho seems to have put a great deal of thought and planning into opening for fall semester. Unfortunately it does not appear they have prepared for the wild card known as students. Many who come to town are smart and responsible. But there will be those who are not. Case in point: the coed-and-mother duo I encountered at Winco Tuesday around 5 p.m. Neither had a mask. When I asked where their masks were, the coed replied, “We don’t have any.” Seriously. Is this the new equivalent of “The dog ate my homework?”
New Saint Andrews has a fresh marketing campaign for the new year. But it does not convey any concern regarding the potential student spread of virus in town. While my interpretation may be incorrect, the ad appears to flaunt not wearing masks.
I find it difficult to offer the benefit of the doubt since Doug Wilson gathered 1,000 followers together and did not require masks. A single act that demonstrated a segment of town who was careless, disrespectful of community and perhaps even lacking in the Christian spirit. Not a good track record for Moscow to trust NSA policies and procedures for their students.
This is why I support both institutions having an online academic fall term.
