Rachel Miller has just posted Plagiarism, Wilson, and the Omnibus, in which she reveals that the self-declared wordsmith Douglas Wilson of Christ Church, Moscow, has placed his name on the cover as an editor of six massive homeschool textbooks, each containing hundreds of instances of plagiarized text. The six volumes consist of what they call the Omnibus series, which is published by Veritas Press. They represent these books as sort of a history of civilization but from what I can see it’s closer to an all-encompassing exercise in grand-scale plagiarism: How to pinch from Wiki and call it Classical Christian Education.
I’m sticking this to the top for a while, so be sure to scroll down for updates. “See you later, alligator!”

HAHAHAHAHA. Doug Wilson is such a tool.
If they had even a modicum of integrity (which we know that they don’t) they will resign from the ministry, and certainly from the schools they are associated with. Three strikes and you are out Doug !!
Here’s hoping that intellectually abysmally stupid posse who hangs with you will all, down to the last man, ride off into the sunset with you.

But of course, “Pastor” Wilson, if he addresses this at all himself, rather than using tail wagging youthful sycophants to do the job, will employ his remarkable gift for manufacturing very twisted pretzel logic to (A) tell us how Rachel Miller is an “enemy” who is completely wrong, and he is completely (naturally) right, or (B) kind of, sort of acknowledge that, if you look at things sideways and squint, there may perhaps be a tiny, insignificant couple of “errors”, which, of course, are meaningless, and anyway, if there was any hint of plagiarism, he (again, naturally) is utterly and completely innocent. “I didn’t do it!”……..
If Rachel’s research results in lawsuits and damage to Canon Press (and I sincerely hope that it does), it doesn’t really matter how Doug responds. This is the gist of *real* justice, you see: Applying consequences to someone who has broken the law, whether they like it or not.
This load of crap is by Logos Press.
Search for “Omnibus” — but sit down first because the price for these stolen words is way, way to high and will, undoubtedly, knock you off your feet.
The books are published by Veritas Press.
who will probably wish they had never heard of Doug Wilson et al in very short order. I expect they will pull them quickly rather than co-operate with and enrich word thieves.

This was Veritas Press, not Canon. Just to be clear.
Thanks, Rachel. I meant to say is “sold” by Logos press – hence the link. I clearly should have been more careful. I guess the excitement of the day and the amount of information now available for so many of us was too much for me. Now, the former sentence is an example of a dissembling statement – maybe like Doug W. will use to explain how all the co-authors and editors, not to mention the publisher failed him. Therefore, only the second sentence “I should have been more careful” matters. Note to Doug W. and his posse – that is how an adult takes responsibility for what he/she writes.
I do remain deeply grateful for all the work you have done, Rachel!
Best,
Rose
Hi Rose,
I hadn’t seen your comment when I submitted mine. I just wanted to be clear that it isn’t Canon this time.
Thank you for all your work Rachel. Seriously, I am just ecstatic about this. I’ve been laughing non-stop all day.
Why am I not surprised?
Is it because this has happened twice before?
As a dog returns to its vomit and a pig to wallowing in the mire so Doug and company return to plagiarizing. And the minions to defending it.
