Andrew Sandlin and Pastor Douglas Wilson of Christ Church, Moscow, have a colorful history that dates back almost a decade. The color continues today, as Mr. Sandlin rejects Mr. Wilson’s invitation to debate and also corrects Mr. Wilson false representations. Here’s a small excerpt from his statement:
. . . In addition, while I hate the distraction of offering another clarification, for friends and supporters I want to correct a couple of factual errors. . . . This is false. . . . This also is false. This young lady as a child was raped by one of Doug’s college students. . . . Pastor Wilson seems constantly to find himself in loud public quarrels with Bible-believing Christians and is under siege just now (again). Having been under siege once or twice before myself, I do understand how one can make factual errors, especially at those pressurized times. . . .

Oh joy. This has gotten comical.
Andrew Sandlin is really impressive, in his restraint and in his candor. A good friend of mine is a very close friend of Andrew’s and he states emphatically that Andrew Sandlin is the real deal. I think of that every time I read him and I see nothing that suggests otherwise.
A lot of people are correcting Doug Wilson these days. But the people who should — his family, his friends, his elders, his church members, his denomination — continue to watch him in silence. Do they really think he’s right? Or are they afraid to tell him he’s wrong? As you have pointed out, Ulysses, he dug up what imagined to be dirt on Natalie. And they have to know he’d do it to them if they speak up.
