“It won’t be the nice, liberal hippie town it was 20 years ago.”
If we continue to grow and flourish and develop, it will have an impact on Moscow. It won’t be the nice, liberal hippie town it was 20 years ago.

Repost: “Let their children be orphaned, cut off without a father. . .”
Let their children be orphaned, cut off without a father. Let their wives be widows, and we pray that their children would be desolate, having to beg their bread in empty places. We pray that the extortioner would come back at them, catching them in their plots, and taking all that they have. May strangers and aliens pillage them and leave them with nothing. We pray that when this happens, and Your hand is evident, that no one would show mercy, and that no kindness would be extended to his fatherless children. Cut off his posterity; may his name and his line come to nothing. Recall how sinful his father was, and call up again the sins of his mother. May their sins come before Your throne continually so that their name may be blotted out, and remembered on the earth no more.

Subject: Wilson Prayer
Reply-To: office@christkirk.comDear Christ Church Fam,
Over the last year or so, I have been dealing with a variety of small but strange (and apparently unrelated) health issues. And then, during a Canon Press meeting in November, my left ear suddenly turned off. It rebounded slightly, but hasn’t stopped ringing like a fire alarm ever since.
After months of tests and check-ups, and various theories that didn’t quick make sense, a recent MRI finally revealed the underlying cause of everything I’ve been dealing with — a large brain tumor (“farm egg” in shape and size according to one neurologist). The tumor originated in my auditory canal and is now compressing my brain stem and butting into my cerebellum. Although no biopsy has been conducted, three different specialists have ruled out cancer based on the MRI (which is obviously an enormous blessing). That said, it is still killing me (as they say) softly, and new symptoms have been multiplying rapidly over the last couple weeks. Which is why I’m now scheduled for invasive brain surgery at USC on May 2. (For those of you who asked why I showed up late to Grace Agenda, now you know! I was meeting with my surgeon in LA. . .)

“everybody must be able to get laid whenever and however they want”
But why do we want to account for complex postmodern realities? That is called missing the point, for there are no longer any points to miss. Right? Actually, underneath all the pomo jargonizing, there are a couple of non-negotiable points that they insist on us not missing, while pretending they are insisting on nothing whatever. One is that everybody must be able to get laid whenever and however they want, and the other is that they must be allowed to rail against power games while playing the ultimate power game themselves. The first item is the bait, and the second is the trap. The people doing this are really evil or really stupid.

“Somebody apparently wants to get laid”
Sinners want their words to be respected, while at the same time reserving their right to disrespect the words of others because, as we all know, ‘that’s different.’ They want their words respected, but if they deeply respect the words of others — particularly the words of those in authority over them — they cannot give free rein to their lusts in the way they would like. Depend upon it. When men start to interpret this way, it is because they want the authoritative word that comes to them to be a lot more flexible than before, and by this it turns out (surprise) that the seventh commandment is chiefly in view. Somebody apparently wants to get laid in ways contrary to the divine stone memo handed down at Sinai. And at the same time, expect that man’s own pronouncements about what other people are doing to become increasingly inflexible.

I love that @NewSaintAndrews motto, “Rise to a new level of mastery.” Makes me think of Steven Sitler and some of those others.

“following her will greatly increase their chances of getting laid”
How Bad Theology is Incentivized
Wednesday, July 28, 2010 By Douglas Wilson
‘When men follow a teacher like Jezebel of Thyatira, they are doing so not because her doctrinal reasons are so compelling and her academic credentials so impressive, but rather because following her will greatly increase their chances of getting laid (Rev. 2:20). If a prophet comes prophesying wine and beer (Mich. 2:11), he is sure to get a following. And if it is a prophetess, declaring that love is grace and grace is sexy, then even better’ (Why Ministers Must Be Men, p. 23).

“When a people have given themselves over to a lie, the scriptural pattern is for God to give them over to more lies”
Making all necessary adjustments for the changes in time and place, the modern evangelical Church, eyes fat as grease, bastion of born againism, is fully as corrupt as the Church prior to the Reformation. And this is not a back-handed way of praising the Church prior to the Reformation. When a people have given themselves over to a lie, the scriptural pattern is for God to give them over to more lies, so that they might learn to eat their own cooking. The further into the delusion we go, the starker the evidence of such delusion is, and the more difficult it is to get anyone to see what has actually happened. And on those occasions when someone will admit that there are ‘excesses’ out there, it is still glibly assumed that these excesses are scattered around the periphery of modern evangelicalism. And thus, we heal the wound lightly, saying peace, peace, when there is no peace. This idolatry is right at the heart of our identity as modern evangelicals. We have sold out the faith for a buck. The one thing in our favor is that we made a bigger profit than Judas did. And, unlike Judas, we keep what we get.

“One of the laws of leadership”
One of the laws of leadership in this fallen world is that people will put up with far more from ungodly leaders than they will from godly leaders.

“He lies, constantly and unremittingly. . .”
He lies, constantly and unremittingly. . . He holds to a lie, and then speaks his lies. . . . He cannot speak without lying. He listens to lies, he invents lies, he sends his friends out to lie for him, he delights in a lie, he spins lies like a juggler in a good circus, he schedules press conferences in order to have an opportunity to lie.

All the Feminist Screeds in the World
All the Feminist Screeds in the World
In other words, if God will not judge the rapist on the Last Day, then all the feminist screeds in the world should not make a rapist feel bad about what he is doing. A great desire is evident in our culture to ‘absolutize’ the evil of rape, but since the process is an arbitrary one, suspended in midair, there is no reason to take it seriously (Fidelity, pp. 81–82).

Irrefutable
I was abused by a Christian man and shunned by a Christian church. They used their faith to justify the abuse. The church has work to do.
