He’s lying to get ahead of the story.

Whenever the media does an exposé on the sexual deviants (aka “Wilson followers”) in Christ Church, Doug Wilson does not welcome the publicity as something that “belongs on the front page of the newspaper.” Rather, he goes into ad hom mode ripping the source. Consider his responses to Vice and the Daily News, in their recent pieces. Both news organizations gave him front-page attention (“Inside the Church That Preaches ‘Wives Need to Be Led with a Firm Hand’” and “Christ Church deacon indicted for child porn”). Both times he replied with his typical the abusive ad hominem — “Like a Tabloid Tarantula” and “Christ Church Statement on Alex Lloyd” (note his whack at the Daily News). Bitterness splattered from his keyboard like bile spraying from his gallbladder.

The Daily News can prove Wilson’s lie another way: They could do a front-page story on Jim Nance (who should be beaten with a tire iron for what he did), and the News could do a front-page story on the father of Hilary Medina, from this Vice article, who was a Kirk deacon when he peeped his daughter. Then watch ad homs fly.

Yes, it belongs on the front page

I am writing with regard to your story last weekend regarding Alex Lloyd. Without saying anything one way or the other regarding the legal issues involved in his case, which are still ongoing and unresolved, we wanted to publicly state that as far as Christ Church is concerned, we do believe that sexual misconduct on the part of any of our elders and deacons belongs on the front page of the newspaper. That, so far as it goes, is as it should be.
