A Rare Whiff from Tucker Carlson

Tucker Carlson has the most informative show on cable. I’ve been watching him for decades, going back to the ’90s when he ate Bill Press’ lunch every night on CNN. Currently he’s on FOX NEWS. And before I go further, since 70% of the readers who hit this site are lefties, I challenge you to watch any one of Tucker’s nightly commentaries. The truth may hurt — but it also sets you free. Tucker regularly cleans up the wall-to-wall flow of dribble you see on the MSM.

Tucker’s been around. He launched The Daily Caller and he sits on the board of directors for The American Conservative. A few months ago Rod Dreher credited Tucker with calling Covid-19 to President Trump’s attention. At the time Mr. Trump took the ChiCom virus no more serious than the Democratic Party did — not at all.

So it’s disappointing to see Tucker buy Doug Wilson’s camera-whoring scheme to arrange the high-profile arrest of a few pet kirkers yesterday. If you missed it, earlier tonight Tucker featured video of a disgustingly overweight security guard deploying his Taser on a mother who was watching her son play football. She was sitting in the stands, socially distanced by 30 feet or more from others, but she was not wearing a mask. This arrest was an overreaction. He could have asked her to pull up her collar. He could have given her a mask. He should have cited her. But arrest her? As Joe Biden would say, “Look, fat. . .”

Then Tucker likened the bullying arrest of this young woman to the well-orchestrated arrest of a few maskless kirkers. But the two incidents are not the same. The security guard responded inappropriately to the offense; whereas Doug Wilson deliberately provoked the police into making arrests. This was not a “flash psalm sign”; it was a calculated super-spreader event that Wilson hoped would bring him attention. Remember, he craves attention like a serial pedophile craves children.

Wilson’s act required only one prop — maskless kirkers with psalters in hand. And it worked exactly as planned. The police did their job and Wilson’s cameraman recorded the whole thing. Of course Wilson sent YouTube links to FOX NEWS — probably directly to Tucker’s contact page, hoping for this exact outcome: Poor Christians persecuted in the town square for not wearing masks. And Tucker bit without asking the most basic journalistic question: Why didn’t they arrest the pastor? Why the underlings only?

The answer is because this pastor forces his sheep to lay down their lives for him.

  1. I’ve been asking his followers in his blog comments that very same question all day. They won’t answer.

  2. From my perspective, they were doing this for the camera and the notice of media, so according to Jesus, they have received their reward. From the singing to the pandering of those watching Tucker, Hannity and The Angle (all three I watch nightly when I can) they received the praise of men while in reality, their performance would only garner a Divine Yawn.
