Generally speaking, middle-aged men don’t turn 50, wake up, and decide to seduce a young girl in their care. Generally speaking. Of course, this could have been a middle-age crisis. James Nance no doubt signed the Christ Church Commitment to Loyalty, to surrender his autonomy. And as a loyalist (and therefore a useful idiot) to Doug Wilson, he certainly led an unfulfilled life. He spent the vast majority of his adult life covering up one scandal after another for Mr. Wilson — including Jamin Wight and Steven Sitler.
But who gives up a promising career at Boeing (which President Trump recently praised as “the greatest company in the world”) to work for peanuts at a start-up elementary/high school in Podunk? I find it hard to believe that Jim Nance has one altruistic bone in his body. It’s much easier to to believe that something forced him out. And high schools are a natural feeding grounds for hebophiles. So after chewing on this for two days, I wonder, How many other victims are there, and where are they?
I had a sinking feeling when I read about this in another forum, and immediately wondered about other victims. Given the hyper-patriarchal environment, the extreme focus on total submission to authority, and the likelihood that the victim is totally sexually naive, it would likely have been fertile ground for a sexual predator. I could be wrong, but my sense is that there was too much manipulation for this to have been his first victim.

Nance was suspended from the ministry around ’96–’97. We don’t know why but Occam’s razor says it’s related. (This would give Wilson rope to control Nance, which would also explain why Wilson went so light on him — ropes pull both ways.) Here’s the timeline thus far:
