“two ways to measure a man”

There are two ways to measure a man by his footnotes and bibliography. One is to measure his footnotes and bibliography. The other is to measure how many footnotes and bibliographies he is likely to wind up in.

  1. Perhaps the only way to get through to Doug Wilson is if someone starts plagiarizing his writing. I’m sure he’d have a thing or two to say about that if it was brought to his attention.

    1. @Darlene: Indeed, we have two or three different quotes lined up where he cites an article that he wrote for Omnibus and makes a big notation on Gog, saying, “Used with permission.”

    2. I wonder how he obtained that permission. Did he use the cell phone in his left hand to call the cell phone in his right hand?
“Hi Doug, may I have permission to use the article?”
“Why yes Doug, of course you may.”
      “Thank you Doug.”
      “No, thank YOU Doug.”

  2. “Pastor” Wilson may well end up as a footnote, but not for reasons he would like.

  3. If someone plagiarized Wilson, he would be angry. That would not, however, make him see the wrong of what he’s done or been part of.

    1. Oh, I’m sure Doug understands exactly what he’s doing wrong. He just doesn’t care. Deep in the recesses of his sweaty, fevered little brain and his cramped, bloated little ego, he genuinely believes he is justified in doing anything and everything necessary to maintain a subservient congregation and a working income machinery in the form of his clever little “educational” enterprises. If that includes plagiarism, so be it. Doug is a cult leader, and cult leaders get to rewrite the rules differently for themselves.
