A Postcard from Palookaville

“The indefatigable Rachel Miller is telling another tale. Or is it the same one? I’m losing count at this point. Given the scale of the evidence (once again) one wonders what some people have to do to lose credibility in the Christian world. But it is the Year of the Donald, I guess — though it’s a bad sign for society as a whole when the politicians are as teflon-coated as the church leaders.”

  1. In the world of grown-up church, the vast majority have never heard of Doug Wilson, Christ Church in Moscow, New St. Andrews College, Canon Press or Greyfriars Hall, They are the lucky ones. Engaging many of his supporters on his blog has proven to be as frustrating as it is sad. If these latest allegations prove to be true, the gymnastics required by Mr. Wilson and his supporters to justify and obfuscate will be a wonder to behold. One can only pray that some of them will come the rational conclusion that they have been duped by a bush league cult leader parading around as a pastor and a theologian. Unfortunately, for those who do manage to wrangle free, it will leave them with a limp for the rest of their lives.

    1. The first defense I’ve seen so far is that Wikipedia Editors used the Omnibus as their source. You know, with a time machine

    2. I really, really hope there’s a lawsuit and Doug has to eat the whole thing in open court presided over by a secular judge.

  2. Choosing to remain a Doug Wilson follower is like choosing to continue to live in Chernobyl or Fukushima.

    1. His die-hard followers are certifiable idiots, so that’s not much of a stretch.
