Site Update: Jamin Wight Archive

We have added a new wing to MoscowID.net, in honor of Christ Church missionary Jamin Wight. You can see it here. For tonight, however, we have just a few docs up because we want to call your particular attention to this affidavit, which was sworn out by Latah County Sheriff’s Detective Justin Anderson. It itemizes in detail Jamin Wight’s probation violation, for which he was convicted him of perjury.

Sequence of Events
In May 2006, Mr. Wight pled guilty to felony Injury to a Child in the matter of his sexual abuse of Natalie. After serving 5 months at North Idaho Correctional Institution (NICI), he was put on probation. One of the conditions of his probation prohibited him from consuming or possessing alcohol beverages in any form. In April 2009, Mr. Wight appeared before the judge to ask for an early release from his probation and he testified under oath that he had not violated his probation. The judge freed him, calling him a “model probationer.”

However, Jamin Wight did not tell the truth. He regularly violated the alcohol proscription of his probation, with frat-house zeal. For example, the affidavit states:

“— told me sometime in December of 2008, Jamin was with friends at Ethan Atwood’s residence in Moscow, Idaho. Jamin and his friends were drinking whiskey in a hot tub. Jamin left Atwood’s residence and arrived at the —’s residence where — and her daughter, —, were with — and ——. — said they were all waiting for Jamin to arrive because they had planned to go bowling as a family. — said when Jamin arrived he stumbled into the house and fell down in front of her. — asked Jamin if he had been drinking or if he was drunk. Jamin told — he wasn’t drunk, he was just kneeling down to say hi to —. — said she was sitting on a couch holding — in her lap. — said Jamin’s speech was slurred. — said Jamin told them he didn’t feel well and he walked outside with — where he vomited. Jamin came back inside and lay down on the floor and promptly passed out. — said they were unable to wake Jamin so she and — went bowling without him.”
