“I will not be putting myself in this position again.”

Taking responsibility in either sense needs to result in something concrete, and in my case it means that I will not be co-authoring any books like this anymore. I will not be putting myself in this position again.

  1. Here’s an analogy to show what it means to take responsibility:

A boy and his father are playing catch in their backyard. The boy makes an errant throw and breaks a neighbor’s window. The father pays for the window.

Here’s what Doug Wilson means by taking responsibility:

“Taking responsibility for the broken window needs to result in something concrete. I will not be playing catch with my son in the future.”

    1. What a great analogy! haha!
The only thing I would change is: “I will not be [caught] playing catch with my son in the future.”
