“Kill the dragon, save the girl!”

Pastor Douglas Wilson of Christ Church, Moscow, boasts that he teaches his grandchildren to “Kill the dragon, save the girl!” But when he had a chance to kill two dragons — one named Steven Sitler, the other Jamin Wight — he pled for mercy on their behalf. And since he framed the narrative, you can guess what happened to the girls.

The Bible teaches that like begets like, which in this case means creep begets creeps. Doug Wilson spawns predators, not by accident, and he defends them in court, not by accident. They follow him and they prey as he has taught them — unless you believe these events are one big unlucky coincidence.

Natalie Rose Greenfield writes,

After some chit-chat, he asked about my relationships and mentioned that he’d spoken with my mom and said she’d made him aware that I was dating someone from the University. I said yes, that was true. Then it got weird. He asked me if I was sexually active with the guy I was dating. The question caught me off guard — in light of everything I had been through and the lack of support I had received from the church, I didn’t see how the details of my current relationship could possibly be any of his business. I hesitated to answer, so he asked again, “Are you sexually active with your boyfriend? Do you have intercourse? Oral sex? What have you done sexually with him?” (“The Last Meeting”)

If you’re thinking of moving to Moscow, then please read all of Natalie’s posts and ask yourself what reason you have to believe he would treat your daughter any differently than he treated her:

Doug Wilson is the dragon.

  1. I’m going to object to this analogy on the grounds that Doug Wilson is too obese, pasty, pale, and squishy to qualify as a “dragon.” If you’re going with reptiles, I’d have to insist that he’s more of a toad.

  2. An excellent analogy.

Doug Wilson is a dangerous man. While he might not hurt anyone directly, he protects those who do harm, instead of their victims. No priest or pastor should be followed who acts as he does.

  3. Your analysis of Doug is perfect. He teaches others, but he does not teach himself. Like every hypocrite, he gives lip service to virtue and practices vice. He wears the sheep’s clothing, but it doesn’t change the wolf underneath.

Keep up the good work, Ulysses. Eyes are being opened.
